How Sirk Norge Succeeds with Their Events

We had a chat with Sara Wilsgaard, who is the responsible for all members at Sirk Norge.

Sirk Norge is an industry organization for the entire recycling sector, representing over 200 different businesses within waste management, recycling, and recycled raw materials. Their main goal is to help society achieve national objectives in waste policy and the ambition of a more circular economy.

Sirk Norge offers its members a range of courses, webinars, and seminars. The most important event, the Annual Conference, brings together over 1,000 attendees.

"We have a very high activity level when it comes to events, with up to several events each week. What's crucial for our operations is having a registration solution that works efficiently, quickly, and seamlessly."

Need for a smooth registration solution

Organizing various types of events weekly is part of Sirk Norge's core business, and according to Sara, it's essential to have a system that is user-friendly for everyone involved and can integrate with their other systems.

"Previously, we used another registration system that we found didn't meet our needs. The system was difficult to use and had a pricing model that didn't suit us. As the end of our annual license approached, it was natural to look at other alternative solutions."

They had several key requirements for their new solution:

Sara assembled a project team to investigate what was available in the market for event registration solutions, and eventually, they came across Checkin, which was referenced in a newsletter a colleague subscribed to.

"We contacted Checkin and wanted to test the system, and were met with good service and accommodation from Christian at Checkin. The fact that we could test Checkin on one of our events before we had to make a decision was crucial for us."

The project team decided to test Checkin for a couple of months and determined that the solution fit their needs perfectly.

"We liked Checkin because we could start using the solution immediately. We tested Checkin in parallel with our old solution. And quickly experienced that Checkin was more intuitive and easier to use. We are also satisfied with Checkin's pricing model, which suits our needs."

Implementation

"There are several of us working on the same things at Sirk Norge, so the system must be easy to use and easy to learn. We are capable of organizing everything around our events ourselves. We no longer need an event agency to help us with registrations or checkin at our annual conference, for example.”

Sirk Norge has gained several super users of Checkin, which means they can relieve each other of tasks and assist the finance manager when they want an overview of invoice payments, receipts, and sending credit notes to participants.

Results

Sirk Norge now saves time spent on setting up their events. Several people in the organization can use the solution, making it easier to distribute tasks and assist each-other in planning events allowing them to organize more events than before.

Integration between Checkin and other solutions, such as Zoom, MailChimp, and their website, has also resulted in a more seamless customer journey for their members.

"It would take a lot to find a better solution than Checkin, both as a registration system and for support. I have not experienced better service than what I have received from Checkin - it takes quite a bit to beat Checkin on that."
