GeoPublishing Events was started by Ingvild Ryggen Carstens' father over 25 years ago, originally as a publication for geologists. Today, they organize five annual conferences, focusing on technology and digitalization in exploration and production – now with support from the Checkin event registration system.

GeoPublishing Events has specialized in organizing conferences about what happens beneath the seabed, i.e., subsurface. Their conferences attract hundreds of participants from around the world who are eager to learn more about topics like seabed mineral extraction and exploration on the Norwegian continental shelf. According to Ingvild, this focus is one of their success factors, but it also sets high standards for the quality of the program.

– "Many of our competitors offer broader conferences, but we stand out with a narrow and specialized niche. We work closely with the industry’s expert communities, and for each conference, we establish program committees to ensure a program of high professional value."

Previously, GeoPublishing Events used a self-developed registration system that was very time-consuming to manage. Ingvild was therefore looking for a simpler, cloud-based solution.
